The Tsunami Warning Center of the United States said today that the Pacific coast of Mexico, and other countries bordering the Pacific Ocean, could be beaten on Saturday by waves of varying intensity.

The earthquake of 8.9 on the Richter scale has shaken today northeastern Japan caused a tsunami that reached parts of the city of Sendai, where local television pictures show how the water has washed everything that was put by ahead. The epicenter was located 130 kilometers offshore of Sendai, on the island of Honshu.
